when you book a stay at our AirBnB, you are becoming a part of an incredible history. this is the beautiful story of a Gold Family Farms founder and the namesake of this refuge, Floris Marie ‘Sally’ Gold. or more affectionately known simply as: Aunt Sally.

Aunt Sally was born in 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah. as the last child and only daughter of Leslie Clarence and Floris Cobbley Gold, Sally was doted upon by her family. Sally grew up in Utah and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1961. soon after she and her family moved to Oregon to start a plant nursery. in 1965, Gold Family Farms was founded.

Aunt Sally was an integral part of the formation of the company and was a part of its executive team until she retired in 2000. Sally pioneered her way in the Oregon Nursery Industry, a predominantly male driven business segment.

after her retirement, Aunt Sally built her dream home and traveled around the world- hitting nearly all 50 states and several countries over the years. though she never had children of her own, Sally was an incredible role model for her nieces and nephews as well as the youth she worked with in the community.

Aunt Sally passed away peacefully in 2023. her home, a place that was lovingly designed by her and hosted many family dinners and events in her time there, was transitioned into an airbnb. we hope that, by staying here, you are able to feel some of the peace and joy that our family felt every time we visited our aunt. we have continued to care for the home she loved so much and added some more modern amenities for your convenience.

the home now sits on an acre of land on a real working plant nursery. it has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all on one level.  the kitchen and living spaces are spacious, perfect for hosting family gatherings. the grounds and gardens are well maintained, with several paths to walk, patio furniture, hot tub and a fire pit.
